A Saturday gratitude shout-out to my husband of thousands of years. Well, not literally thousands... but you know, a very, very long time.

We are both Type A humans aka strong-willed with distinct personalities. We share a similar (not exact) worldview and most of our core values are polar opposite.

It's been a wonderfully interesting journey - and I'm grateful for it. I'm truly and sincerely grateful for Don.

Better together doesn't even get close to describing our journey of work and life in this messy, messy beautiful world.

Thank you Don for being the amazing human that you are. Here I am - still grateful for you.

When we allow our dissonance to surface, the 'treatment effect' can occur. When we notice what we need to notice, we can experience regret, difficult habits, ways of being, unhealthy attachments and the comfort of the familiar ways.

Awareness typically asks for change.
Change is typically uncomfortable.
There is no growth without change.

Mr. Rogers is right - anything that's human is mentionable. And what's more human than the grief that follows loss?

Grief and mourning are human. Make space to bear witness to it, without hurry and without judgement - for yourself. For others.

Respectful leadership must allow space for that which is human. It's necessary.
